Making (A Little) Progress for the New Year!

School starts on August 21st. Which feels pretty far away still. Except for the fact that I will be on the sunny beaches of Destin, Florida August 9-16. So I'm in go-mode trying to get things made and prepared for the new year before leaving for vacation. I made morning group activities differentiated on 4 levels to accommodate the many needs in my room. I'm pretty excited to see how these go! I'm going to create a SmartNotebook page that I will update daily with a journal topic, sentence to proofread, and daily math problem. Each student will have a "Morning Group Activities" binder and will be responsible for completing a variety of activities that tie functional skills and IEP goals together. I'm suuuuuuuper excited to have these pages for data collection and progress monitoring. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to have the students do upon completion each morning since I know my funky friends will all finish at different times. I'll update sometime in September about how these are working out and what I've changed/kept the same.
